Celiac-gene tests are serum blood draw tests — meaning you have to sit to have blood taken and then a phlebotomist must follow the test instructions to centrifuge your blood. Usually, they will mail the kit back for you.
The good thing about this is if you work with a mobile phlebotomist, chances are very high they are a) familiar with this test (known as the zoomer), and b) commonly drive completed test kits over state lines to ship them out. When you purchase this test, you'll receive a list of phlebotomists near you that you can contact to do your blood draw.
The downside about this is you can't go to a local lab because they will not take the test over state lines once it has been centrifuged (and usually don't want to give you the final sample where you could then drive it over state lines to ship it).
So, we find your best bet is to work with the mobile phlebotomist, confirm that they are aware the test needs to be mailed across state lines (and shipped early enough in the day that it is traveling overnight; you don't want to have it left in a pick up box when the last pick up time is close or has passed). In an ideal world, they get a receipt during drop off they can text to you.
Please note phlebotomy costs are not included in your test purchase and that your phlebotomist's fee may vary based on your distance from them (sometimes they'll let you meet them in public instead of them coming to your home or work place to cut down on that cost) and the distance they have to drive to ship the test kit.
Please also be sure to coordinate any return logistics mentioned above with all test instructions to ensure that you have eaten and drank appropriately and that the test is returned in time (during the days of the week it should be mailed back, including avoiding any black out dates during major holidays).
